Putting it in perspective we are still equal third in the lowest number of defeats in the season with 7 and fourth highest scorers with 61 so far outscoring Man United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea. 6th in the table with 59 points. - Stats like that I think we would all have been more than happy with at the start of the season.

On the downside we have drawn far too many games and are the joint 11th highest conceders along with Palace and West Brom with 47 let in (exactly the same amount of goals conceded after 38 games last season). We have conceded more than the other teams in the top 7 and 5 more than Watford.

So that's where the Club need to strengthen next season, but all in all I don't think we can grumble too much.

Re: West Ham v Swansea - Official Match Thread
I'm over this match already. I think it's a mentality thing with our manager and squad. All season we've put in poor performances against all the struggling sides and allowed them to gain confidence and play their game.
ALso need a bit more leadership in the side. Another reason Ginge is good at the back. Noble worked hard yesterday but looked lost and should have been berating his lazy team mates more.

Have a feeling we'll lose to Man Utd as well.
We have great quality but don't look a team yet. Still disjointed, give the ball away cheaply and make poor decisions. Our moments of quality have won us points but I can't say we've really dominated teams or pressured them for long periods. We are a work in progress. The manager has only had one season and it's been decent enough. Lets see what he can do with the squad this summer.

I usually recover quickly from defeats but that shambles yesterday is different. Bilic had better get his act together otherwise the doubts that have set in will fester over the summer. Don't forget West Brom could have gone a couple of goals up in the first 20 minutes last week. Our eventual easy victory was flattering and may have made some of the players cocky.

It will be very interesting to see how they react in our two remaining games. Man U won't roll over, and now that Wollscheid the clown has been dropped, Stoke will be a different proposition in their last remaining fixture, after being crap for the last few weeks.

OVER TO YOU MR. BILIC.

SHIT HAPPENS

MOVE ON

I'm sure that will be Bilic's analysis of the game too.

No karma zico, they FUCKED their best chance at winning the league.

They was on a roll, looking good and then the collapse started with US, then the Goon, Chelsea just put them out their misery.

Nothing will ever undo what their 3 biggest rivals done to them this season, fucking done them over we all did. Remind them of that.

Re: West Ham v Swansea - Official Match Thread
Lots of issues today imho. Obvious one is Antonio at RB when either Tomkins or Byram are better. But I don't get playing Moses at all, he's a season long loan who surely ain't here next year so why even play him? He was shit too btw. Don't think this was the game for Carroll. Sakho would have been better from start against Williams, Carroll against Blind vs Man U.

Weak in the middle of the park after the initial 20 mins.

Payet has been lazy in the last month and his game hasn't been good enough too.

Slav needs to learn from this.

Re: West Ham v Swansea - Official Match Thread
Oh I did enjoy the Tottenham fans I know banging on about Karma today with us and Chelsea losing, but guess I got my retaliation in first last week!!

Tony Gale had it right on Sky, play your dangerous players in the areas that they are dangerous and feed them the ball. With Antonio and Carroll we didn't do that.

Not going to knock Slaven because he has done a fantastic job but he is not seeing what everyone else is and that is Antonio is not a right back. The double whammy is that by playing him there it weakens the team in two positions because he is by far our best option in the right sided attacking spot. Poor fella is constanly blowing out of his arse after an hour because you can't be up and down like he does and cope with both positions.

Plus either a new forward or a happy and for Sakho is needed next year because he is still our best striker in a central position when fit and firing. Andy does well but if he doesn't get perfect service he offers little.

Haven't managed to read thru thread as yet, I was among the last to leave the BOLEYN the last ever Saturday fixture. Well what an anti climax eh, even worse with us being all over them for 1st 20min's looking forward to a farewell filled with celebrations then all of a sudden....I imagine much as been said so won't say much apart from Reid had a MARE. Let's hope we get it together for Tuesday night and get the script right.

That was a shock...where did that strange display come from?

Really poor performance

Re: West Ham v Swansea - Official Match Thread
We defended too narrow against Swansea - outnumbering them in the box, but giving them the freedom of the wings.

I thought Cresswell got caught out of position as often as Antonio, but, unusually for him, offered very little offensively to compensate for the defensive risks he took.

Re: West Ham v Swansea - Official Match Thread
Our defense has been appalling since Lanzini came back. You can carry one player ignoring their defensive duties perhaps but not 3. Too many flair players who need to get stuck in and track back. Noble and Kouyate were massively exposed as was Antonio.

I'm amazed that Antonio is played at right back if we have other fit options. I'm really not getting it. The lad is dangerous in forward positions and all over the place positionally at the back.

Still we've done what we normally do and get hopes up and then fuck it up.

Chester, I thought the same about the Man Utd game, we had been awful and we were crying out for changes but he didn't make them and we got punished.

If Bilic had taken the shit out of his eyes and made the changes that were fucking obvious at half time then we may have salvaged a point but once we were 3-0 down game well and truly over.

Lets be honest, there have been a fair few games where we have salvaged something after going 2 goals down and we were not going to keep doing it every time.

Bilic plays an attacking formation home and away. We've scored fuckloads of goals without a ĺongterm fit striker.

Do you want BFS back?

Deal with it.

errr, without going through all the games, Leicester at home, Man U in the cup at home, also today (there's obviously more). I can admit when we've been outplayed, i'll always question the manager though if he hasn't given us the best chance to win and he's not doing that with the current defensive set up
